About Rong Xia
Dr. Rong Xia is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Northwestern University under the mentorship of Prof. Edward H. Sargent. She obtained her B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Tianjin University in 2017. During her Ph.D. study, she was co-advised by Prof. Xinbin Ma at Tianjin University and Prof. Feng Jiao at University of Delaware. With a dedication to climate change solutions, her research primarily focuses on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the valorization of carbon in the chemical industry. Her expertise lies in advancing electrochemical systems for producing high carbon footprint chemicals, the electroreduction of CO2/CO, and simultaneously pioneering efforts in carbon capture. Her ultimate goal is to advance the field of electrochemical manufacturing and contribute to global decarbonization efforts.
