I support Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) K-12 science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) outreach efforts in New Mexico through a Partnership Intermediary Agreement between AFRL and New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NM Tech). As the STEM Academy Director, I oversee an outreach program that impacts more than students annually through hands-on minds-on activities that engage students in the application of STEM content. Our ultimate goal is to increase the number of qualified candidates for STEM-related careers, with an emphasis on increasing the diversity of applicants ready to enter the STEM workforce.
