I am a hard working, self motivated senior tester who is constantly looking for new and interesting ways to test software. I have a reputation for finding and reproducing obscure bugs and reporting them concisely to speed up their prioritization, fix and verification. I take pride in my work and strive to have the best quality product for customers.I love to automate tests and have developed proficiency with several different tools, including Selenium, SilkTest and WinRunner. On multiple teams I have built automation from the ground up, and on others I have taken existing poorly structured or fragile scripts and refactored them for maintainability, reusability and robustness then expanded them for increased coverage of the application.I have done extensive manual testing of both online and desktop applications. I excel at quickly learning the application, discovering meaningful tests and zeroing in on important and problematic edge cases. I frequently test with little or no documentation available, but strive to create enough documentation to facilitate future testing. I led my team in the switch to using exploratory testing to more closely match the Agile methodology our organization adopted, and recently gave a presentation at the StarCanada testing conference about the transition.I am a strong advocate for the customer and frequently propose changes to developers and designers to improve the layout and flow for the best possible user experience. I strive to be their voice to make sure that the application not only meets specifications, but makes sense for end users.I work as closely as I can with developers to help them create software that is more testable, as well as discover potential areas of weakness that need additional refactor or testing. I love being included in the design phase of features and products to flush out problems early. I have successfully mentored many others in testing techniques to help increase the effectiveness of the entire team.
