U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) in respect to the State of Good Repair (SGR) provisions for transportation agency assets. CodeRed Business Solutions Inc. is currently providing Asset Management to all Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA)organizations in New York City.Our research summarizes the results of the 13-month effort to consider how urban rail transit agencies can leverage data within their maintenance management systems to build asset inventories for higher-level analysis. In addition, our research provided the FTA with a plan or roadmap for how transit agencies can leverage existing asset management and maintenance data, regardless of which asset management or maintenance data collection system the agency employs. To achieve this goal, the team developed a methodology for defining recommended industry-integrated standard asset inventory structures, data elements, and hierarchical relationships. Also, the research team developed a framework to conduct a comprehensive inventory and storing the data into a searchable database, a product that visually displays the asset and associated data. In addition, this database provides a framework that could be used by any agency, regardless of its size, to conduct a comprehensive inventory and perform a hierarchical breakdown of each of its critical assets. CodeRed Business Solutions has a very comprehensive understanding of MAP-21 and FTA requirements that must be followed to efficiently and accurately report the condition of agencies critical assets, components/sub components needed to meet the goals and objectives of the State of Good Repair.
