ABOUT RONALD CINTRON

Ronald leads internal audits for governmental entities at the state, local, tribal, and special purpose levels. He specializes in helping governmental organizations create, organize and/or improve their internal audit departments. Ronald provides internal audit services in outsourced and co-sourced capacities. For outsourced services, Ronald leads entities’ Internal Audit Activities. For Co-sourced services, he is sought by entities to lead specific projects for already-established Internal Audit Departments. Ronald has served internal audit departments in multiple areas of the public sector. He has served employee retirement systems, property tax offices, tribal governments, state, city, and county agencies, state and municipal-level auditor’s offices, housing and development agencies, electric and water utilities, and has contributed to the internal audit profession substantially via continued industry involvement. Ronald has in depth working knowledge of, and experience applying, mandatory internal audit guidance such as those found in the Institute of Internal Auditor’s (IIA) “Red Book” and the GAGAS “Yellow Book” and has experience conducting many types of audits including IT general and application controls reviews, policy compliance reviews, performance audits, examinations and agreed-upon procedures. Ronald also has extensive knowledge of sales, use, and property taxes and has broad data analytics experience. Ronald is passionate about the internal audit profession, serving as a mentor for the IIA, a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) exam item writer, a contributing member of the Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA), and as a member of the IIA’s North American Content Advisory Council (NACAC).
