ABOUT RONALD ALLEN

With over three decades of experience advising buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants, Ron understands all aspects of the real estate development process, the players involved, and how to get projects done. He has negotiated and closed hundreds of real estate and business transactions for individuals and institutions.Ron speaks the language of real estate and construction. He regularly represents developers, purchasers, sellers, landlords, tenants, and lenders in commercial real property transactions. His extensive experience encompasses retail, office, industrial, multifamily, and mixed-use projects, including condominium developments and conversions. Ron is often brought in early to help guide clients through the entire development process—from site selection, negotiating purchase terms and financing, managing due diligence (including coordination with experts and advisors), through closing and disposition. When needed, he also manages discrete components of complex transactions. With a background in environmental litigation, Ron frequently advises clients when their real estate projects have known or suspected environmental risks, including allocating environmental risk among buyers and sellers.Ron also handles a full spectrum of corporate and business transactions. He has lived, studied, and worked in Japan; traveled extensively in Asia; and represented a number of Asian investors with U.S. business interests.Before his legal career, Ron worked every facet of construction, from day laborer to finish carpentry and cabinetmaking. This inside-the-industry experience has provided valuable perspective on the construction process and real estate development.
