FoodChain ID Group, with offices in the USA and eleven other countries, offers a range of testing, certification and digital services to the food industry. I was brought into the company to spearhead the development of new business opportunities and played a key role in a number of areas. I assisted in the reorganization of FoodChain ID and was instrumental in the creation of its Key Account Program and the restructuring of its pricing models. I led the sales and marketing effort HorizonScan, a web-based, subscription software service that tracks food safety alerts affecting over 500 food commodities originating in more than 180 countries. It is the most comprehensive database of its kind and is used by food companies to identify and prevent food safety hazards in their supply chains. This service was developed by Fera Sciences, Ltd of the UK. I negotiated a marketing partnership with Fera whereby FoodChain ID became the exclusive distributor for HorizonScan in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Germany. HorizonScan is now widely used in the food industry and is regarded as the standard for accurate inforation regarding potential hazards in food.
