Ron Slimp is the Managing Partner of TD International (TDI), the strategic advisory and risk intelligence firm. In 2015, he founded TDI Compliance in response to client needs. Both companies are based in Washington, D.C. with offices in Houston and Dubai. Specializing in commercial development and post-transaction conflict resolution in opaque operating environments, Ron advises global decision-makers in private equity, oil, gas, and power. Europe, Africa, and Southeast Asia are areas of depth, where he has built a reputation of providing his clients with a superior information advantage, informing critical decisions. Ron began his career as a diplomat and trade negotiator, serving in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State from 1989 to 1998, conducting overseas diplomatic missions in Paris, Brussels, Geneva and Sarajevo. His dossiers included global trade and finance negotiations, Iran and the first Gulf War. Ron received numerous awards for his service to the U.S. negotiating efforts in the World Trade Organization from 19••••95 and again in Bosnia-Herzegovina implementing the Dayton Peace Accords from 19••••96. After leaving government service, Ron was an executive at Enron Corporation and at Duke Energy. In both Houston and London, he advised global trading operations and the executive management team on commodity and event risk for oil, gas and power. Subsequently, he was a Vice President and Officer of Duke Energy Americas from 2001to 2004, where he led Commercial Operations. Ron holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Rice University in Houston and a Bachelor of Science in International Trade & Finance from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He is fluent in French. Ron serves on the Board of the Jack Kemp Foundation, an organization committed to the values of the American Idea of growth, freedom and hope in the spirit of leadership demonstrated by Jack Kemp.
