About Ron S.

It\'s been 25 years since I started my career in Restaurant Hospitality. I spent the first part of my career with Longhorn Steakhouse. 15 years in a place I loved. When I started as a host it was a very different place. It has grown into a company I believe in and was proud to work for. In the time I worked there, I trained in every position of the restaurant. I started as a host in 2002 in Greensboro, NC. I moved around in different positions before being promoted as a Manager. I worked in all the different areas of the restaurant. I was promoted to Managing Partner in 2010 at the Myrtle Beach, SC location. While I was there we grew guest counts and sales consistently and ended the year at Diamond Club status, the top 5% of the company. I then left that restaurant and opened the Longhorn Steakhouse in Goldsboro, NC. Being a part of a new restaurant opening was a great privilege and it was an incredible learning experience. I remained the Managing Partner there until I was asked to open another Longhorn in North Myrtle Beach, SC. We opened November of 2013 and it went extremely well. We achieved top 5% of the company once again making North Myrtle Beach the #1 new restaurant opening for 2015. It was extremely beneficial over the years to work in so many different locations and to grow in all positions. In May 2015 I moved back to my hometown of High Point, NC. I soon switched to Olive Garden. I moved across concepts to Olive Garden as the General Manager. It is great to work for a company like Darden that I can move from one concept to another! I looked forward to a new challenge with Olive Garden and I found it. While there we increased sales as we decreased turnover. We increased/maintained sales and profit even through COVID. I worked with Olive Garden for 5 years as the General Manager before deciding to take a new role as General Manager and Executive Chef at Melt Kitchen & Bar. This smaller restaurant closed down in July 2021 and it was reopened under new ownership in September 2021. It has been amazing. Everything is fresh daily and made to order. It has an excellent food and beverage concept that I had not experienced before. I have been able to be much more creative in this setting. I have been able to create new dishes that people love. I have been with Melt for over two years now & it has grown exponentially in that time. I credit all of that to the staff and the positive atmosphere we have created. I truly believe in having a positive atmosphere & culture for not only our guests but our staff! Great food & a great atmosphere wins every time!
