Ron Hopkins has been coaching both men’s and women’s basketball for nearly 33 years at all levels from community league to summer basketball clubs to college teams. Besides being president and head coach of Swoosh Canada Basketball, he is the head coach of the Senior Boys at John Maland High School. Upon starting with the team quickly they quickly became one of the top teams in the Zone. He also helped Scona High School achieve their first ever #1 Provincial Ranking. Throughout his career, he has been a critical part of helping three different colleges change their history. His club teams have been successful both nationally and internationally. Ron has coached over athletes\" that have gone to play at the post-secondary level in both Canada and the United States. Ron’s hard work, determination, and passion for the game create club basketball in Edmonton.\\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n

ABOUT RON HOPKINS
Swoosh Canada started in January of 2011 as the brainchild of Ron Hopkins, experienced and esteemed basketball coach. While the company is only a few years old, the idea of running his own basketball club had been growing and evolving in Ron\'s head for over thirty years. Ron\'s goal was to use his talent and dedication on the court to help young people grow and reach their full potential. Ron strongly believes that basketball is a sport for everyone and he looks for ways to fill the needs in the community – reaching out to and recruiting rural players and starting an academy for homeschooled children. Since its inception, it has grown a great deal. Presently, we offer a variety of programs for diverse age groups and levels. We are always looking to better our programs and provide greater opportunities for our athletes.
