Area Manager (Area 9) at Colas LtdAccountable for the operational delivery of highway maintenance and improvement activities across the Central Area of Area 9 on behalf of Colas working in partnership with National Highways. This includes the management of routine and reactive works, winter maintenance, and emergency response.A key part of my role is leading multi-disciplinary teams—including emergency response units and winter service crews—to maintain network resilience, safety, and compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements.Key responsibilities include:• Overseeing all reactive maintenance and planned works, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely delivery.• Leading winter service operations and emergency response teams, ensuring preparedness for severe weather and critical incidents.• Managing programme delivery against performance targets ensuring KPI and CPF are managed.• Regular collaboration with client stakeholders, including National Highways, to manage works, review priorities, and resolve escalations.• Supporting NEC contract management processes including early warnings, compensation events, and change control.• Managing operational budgets and resources, ensuring effective financial control and value for money.• Leading performance and compliance reviews, including site audits, safety inspections, and quality assessments.• Developing clear communication channels with the supply chain to promote a “right first time” culture and continuous improvement.Proud to play a central role in delivering a safe, efficient, and responsive road network across one of the UK’s busiest regions
