The Safety Coordinator provides leadership and oversight on multi‑employer construction sites, acting as the Qualified Coordinator to ensure full compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations. This role drives proactive hazard identification, risk mitigation, and clear communication between all employers, trades, and workers on site. Responsibilities include maintaining the Prime Contractor Safety Management Plan, coordinating first aid and emergency response readiness, and conducting regular inspections to verify adherence to safety programs and regulatory requirements.The position leads site‑wide safety coordination through tools such as a real‑time safety extranet, Safe Work Observations, and structured orientations. It supports incident investigations, develops and reviews safety procedures and training materials, and integrates safety considerations into project planning. The Safety Coordinator also mentors field personnel and other Qualified Coordinators, manages local safety programs, and maintains strong relationships with WorkSafeBC. Continuous improvement, collaboration, and fostering a positive safety culture are central to this role.
