Sacramento County, through the Department of General Services, owns four million square feet of facilities and leases another two million square feet of space to house and support County operations. My personal VISION for the County\'s General Services Department facility operations and management: Carbon-Neutral Building Facilities with Sustainable Energy Solutions by 2030 and beyond. The core mission of the energy program management at the County of Sacramento is to reduce the County operations’ energy and water usage, greenhouse gas emissions, and energy & water costs by increasing employee awareness and participation in energy & water reduction efforts, implementing cost-effective, reliable, and sustainable energy efficiency & water efficiency solutions, and continuously improving the efficiency of the utility resource management with about $11 Million to manage the County\'s General Services Department annual utility-use budget.
