ABOUT ROMMEL MENDOZA

As a Research Policy Fellow at UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Institute (LPPI), I conduct impactful research on the most pressing issues affecting the Latino community in the US. I collaborate with faculty, staff, and partners to produce policy reports or fact sheets inform and influence public discourse and decision-making. I also leverage my skills in politics, public policy, and Spanish to communicate and disseminate LPPI\'s research findings and recommendations to diverse audiences and stakeholders. Prior to joining LPPI, I interned at Marvell Technology in Washington D.C. for the summer, where I supported the government affairs and corporate communications team with research, analysis, and advocacy on various topics, such as broadband access, regulation of artificial intelligence, and immigration reform. I also assisted in setting up and leading various meetings with congressional staff to discuss the issues affecting Marvell and the American community.I am currently pursuing a Bachelor\'s degree in Political Science and Chicano Studies at UCLA. I am passionate about advancing inclusion for marginalized communities, and I believe that I could best unravel my skillset in the public sector of the management consulting industry. I aspire to be involved in consulting projects where I can help increase the effectiveness of state programs or community-based institutions/organizations.
