ABOUT ROMMEL BADUY

Rommel is an Electronic engineer with over 22 years of experience in telecommunications, management and IT technologies and processes, as well as 16 years of complete dedication to airport IT projects. Now works as Product Owner for ITSM at SITA. Rommel has worked in the design of support processes and worked as the lead project manager for the transitions to operations of CUTE, Baggage reconciliation systems, SITATEX, and security systems for more than a 30 airports around the world including Helsinki Vantaa Airport (Finland), Timisoara Giarmata Airport (Rumania), Antalya Airport Turkey, La Guardia in NY, USA. He also was the transition manager for the Command Centre of SITA worldwide located at Montreal and coached and prepared several transitions for the SITA Command Centre in Singapore. Rommel is an expert in leading, planning, coordination and managing all technical activities pertaining to the engineering and integration of airport systems. Rommel has provided expertise and advice in key decision making activities on several Airport improvements project, including El Dorado international Airport (Bogota, Colombia), Kigali International Airport (Kigali, Rwanda), Kinshasa and Lubumbashi (D.R. Congo). Rommel’s responsibilities have included reviewing, analyzing and providing technical advice regarding engineering and design, and ensure that interfaces and systems are compatible and provide maximum functionality and conform to contractual requirements. Rommel has managed and implemented quality surveillance programs to ensure that all materials, equipment and documentation were in compliance.
