   The TREE Method, founded by Romie Nottage, is a transformative therapeutic approach designed to guide individuals through the complex process of identity reintegration and recovery. Developed in 2015, the TREE Method focuses on those who have experienced significant trauma, including incarceration, addiction, and prolonged institutionalization. Romie, a seasoned psychotherapist with extensive experience in community mental health, trauma, and addiction recovery, created the TREE Method to address the unique challenges these individuals face in rebuilding their identities after profound life disruptions.TREE Work combines evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and more. The method provides a structured framework for both individual and group therapy, helping participants explore their personal histories, emotional patterns, and relationships. It focuses on breaking through compartmentalization—the tendency to separate painful emotions and experiences—as a survival mechanism, guiding individuals toward healing and self-integration.The TREE Method draws on humanistic psychology and trauma-informed care, emphasizing the importance of reclaiming one\'s personal narrative and reconstructing a sense of self. It is grounded in the belief that true healing requires addressing not only the symptoms of trauma but also the root causes that fragment identity.
