OC/T is the premier crucible training experience in the U.S Army with a sole purpose of preparing large organizations from around the world to be successful in the most complex environments by providing rigorous, relevant and realistic training. OCTs are regarded as doctrinal experts charged with observing performance, providing mentorship, and delivering constructive feedback through deliberate after-action reviews in order to increase organizational readiness.The Network Communication Systems Specialist supervises, installs, operates and performs limited field level maintenance on commercial and tactical fiber, cabling and wiring, IP based high speed electronic nodal systems, integrated network control centers, network management facilities, associated multiplexing and subscriber interface equipment, multichannel line of site systems and associated relays, tropospheric scatter communications systems, tactical terrestrial satellite communication systems, anti-jam reliable tactical terminals, communications security (COMSEC) devices, and associated equipment. Performs network management functions in support of maintaining, troubleshooting, and reengineering of associated network assets in support of operational requirements. Installs, operates, perform strapping/re-strapping, Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS), and field level maintenance on COMSEC devices. Operates and performs PMCS on assigned vehicles, power generators and equipment.
