ABOUT DAVID ROLLY ROWLAND

It is my belief that infrastructure builds the backbone for a thriving society. We have a responsibility to be developing safe infrastructure that allows our communities to flourish today and for generations into the future. I am an energetic and engaging professional, experienced in relationship management, people leadership, project management, design coordination and engineering.Prior to joining Waka Kotahi I was the Southern Geotechnical Market Lead for consultancy Beca, responsible for growing and strategically developing the Beca geotechnical presence across the South Island as well as interacting with internal market facing teams nationally. Previously I was on the Professional Services Sub-Alliance leadership team for the $1.2b NCTIR alliance in Kaikōura and was the Geotechnical Functional Lead in the $2.2b SCIRT alliance in Christchurch.As a keen collaborator I believe in building strong relationships across organisations and communities. I am an effective communicator and storyteller who can take complex topics and convey them to a range of audiences confidently – whether the purpose be to inform, entertain or persuade.I have a passion for helping all people to be the best they can be and developing high performing teams to deliver innovative solutions for complex challenges, as well as providing great social outcomes.In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my young family, often following then around various sports venues.
