About Rolando Rodriguez

Molecules are my passion. I have spent all my career learning, developing, teaching and applying physics and AI based methodologies for the discovery and design of new molecular entities, vaccines, enzymes, new drugs, to diagnose and cure diseases, and to be used in Healthcare, Agriculture, Industrial Biotechnology and the Pharmaceutical Industry all over the world.I love to travel, I love languages and I love to learn, it all combined when I was leading and doing research in three countries at the same time, believe me, I had to learn remote working and time management by heart. I program computers since the age of 12, started in Assembly and C and after that I think I have programmed in almost every major computer language.Still leading the lab and working abroad I became the Vice President and the PMO head of our company, I had to learn deeply about business, we reached a superb P&L on $400 Million/year average revenue and I became also a Product and Business Strategist and a Change Management Guru. and I loved it! I had to learn Diplomacy and Fundraising when I was the liaison with major Funding Agencies and International Organizations (UNDP, UNESCO, PAHO, WHO, FAO, SAREC, JICA, IAEA, etc.), Private Charities, Universities, Governments and Agricultural and Biopharmaceutical Industry Partners. I ended up skilled in Global Regulatory Strategy when we had to put up with GMP, GCP and GLP for the ISO series certification of the whole company, working as CRO and collaborating with the WHO and 52 other countries. I had the great experience to work and help a number of LMICs to advance their scientific research and create partnerships to tackle their own diseases.To designs new drugs and cures we do need data, I took the challenge to lead the Healthcare data systems redesign at full population level, using big data and AI to study diseases, finding each peculiarity from patient stratification, learning from population genetics and designing the appropriated data strategy leading to a new drug or treatment. These days I am working at Arzeda Corp, an awesome Synthetic Biology company where we design proteins never seen in nature. As usual I am designing molecules and developing AI and Physics based methods for Protein Folding Development, and also keep developing Product and Business Strategies as a Mentor and Executive Advisor for Venture Builders and Entrepreneurs associated with the US DoD and DoE.
