ABOUT ROLAND GÖHDE

Roland Göhde aims to contribute to improved cooperation between associations, platforms and actors in the health sector, especially towards multi-sectoral approaches in global health. Together with Dr. h.c. Friede Springer, Professor Dr. Gerald H. Haug and Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Christoph Markschies, Presidents of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, as well as Professor Dr. Detlev Ganten, Founding President of the World Health Summit, Göhde co-founded the non-for-profit Virchow Foundation for Global Health in 2021 and established the Virchow Prize for Global Health having had its inaugural award ceremony in October 2022 under High Patronage of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany. Since 2014, Roland Göhde is acting as Chairman of the Board of GHA – German Health Alliance – which evolved from an initiative jointly established by the German government and Federation of German Industries (BDI). In the same year, he was appointed Member of the Board of Afrika-Verein. Göhde is the main initiator of the “German-African Healthcare Forum” launched in 2014. In 2016, Göhde initiated and co-organized the \"1st German-African Symposium on Creative Economy and Cultural Entrepreneurship\" in Berlin with 500 participants, in partnership with the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Federal Foreign Office and Heinrich Böll Foundation, among others. Göhde co-initiated the “1st African Film Music & Composing Workshop” in 2015 with One Fine Day Films by Tom Tykwer, Marie Steinman and Sarika Lakhani resulting in the soundtrack for feature film “Kati Kati” - Kenya\'s official submission at the OSCARS® 2018. He is Executive Producer of the classical music documentary \"Forte\". Göhde has been active as EU Climate Pact Ambassador 2021/22. He founded the charitable Göhde Foundation in 2012, has been Chair of the Board of \"das junge orchester NRW\" symphony orchestra\'s association and Manager of \"collegium musicum instrumentale münster\". Roland Göhde worked at Partec as HIV/AIDS Project Coordinator and Director Essential Healthcare. In Roland Göhde became Managing Partner. From 2014 to 2024, he held the position of Senior Managing Director of Sysmex Partec. Roland Göhde received the Innovation Award of the Free State of Saxony 2003, the IQ Innovation Award Central Germany 2007, the Würth \"Future Champion Award\" related to the \"1st German Congress of World Market Leaders\" in 2011 and the \"biosaxony award\" in 2019.
