About Rolanda Mayfield
I began my journey at Grand Gulf Nuclear Station as a Chemistry Co-op student concentrating on water treatment. From there I applied to become one of 4 females to work as an operator at Grand Gulf. After about 7 years as an auxiliary operator I went on to license training. With lots of blood, sweat, tears and sleepless nights, I obtained my Reactor Operator license from the NRC on the largest single unit nuclear power plant in the country, fifth in the world. After a couple of years, I decided to venture out of nuclear power in an act to bring my family closer together. I had a new born at home which made it difficult to work 12 hour shift and he had a big brother 4 hours away whom he needed in his life and we needed him in our lives. I accepted an offer to join Entergy\'s Enterprise Safety and Quality Assurance department which allowed for relocation so my husband and I packed up, moved to AR and the rest is history. I was thrilled to join this team based on my desire for employee safety and my desire to properly equip employees to be successful. I am learning many things about other parts of the business such as, Transmission, Distribution, and Fossil operations. I hope to continue growing, learning and most importantly doing as much as I can to contribute to employees\' safety.
