ABOUT ROLAND TORRES
Dr. Torres has recently started a Boutique Neurosurgery practice with “Concierge” type service at ADVANCED NEUROSURGICAL TECHNOLOGIES. This is a VET-owned business. We see and will take on the most complex or rare diseases.Dr. Torres spent the past two years on Neurosurgical program development at a small community hospital in Central Florida. After two years, internal reviews found that this community hospital was accepting patients with higher Apache scores i.e, higher acuity or sicker Neurosurgery patients than the local big city hospitals and wait for it, they also had better outcome, not 10% better, not 20% better but actually 30% better outcome. Dr. Torres will also be available for consultation and see patients at all Orlando area hospitals. Dr. Torres is a nationally recognized Neurotrauma and NeuroCritical Expert. Often called to moderate Neurosurgical Scientific sessions, works closely with industry in advancing new technology for TBI. Dr. Torres is presently a Professor of a Neurosurgery (volunteer faculty), at the UCF College of Medicine. He has previously been a faculty member at Stanford University Medical School for many years and then in South Florida at the University of Miami and most recently, Associate Professor at the Univ. of Florida-Gainesville Dept. of Neurosurgery.He has extensive experience in open Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery, Neuro-Endoscopy and is also fellowship trained in Neuro- Oncology (UC-San Francisco) as well as Complex Spine ( UCLA). Dr. Torres is retired from the United States Air Force.
