As an entrepreneur, data scientist, and human-centered design practitioner, I’m passionate about building innovative, real-world solutions at the intersection of AI, analytics, and design. With over 13 years of experience across industries and business functions, I’ve led data science initiatives ranging from founding analytics practices to implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems using cutting-edge LLMs. I’ve had the privilege of growing alongside the field—witnessing firsthand the evolution of AI from traditional predictive models to today’s generative breakthroughs.My journey began in 2011 with my first predictive model—forecasting customer-level revenue for a major U.S. hardware retailer. Over the years, I’ve seen and driven the leap in accuracy and generalizability from linear regression to ensemble methods like XGBoost. I built early recommendation engines using collaborative filtering, and have since embraced hybrid models enhanced by LLM-powered rankers. I’ve worked through the progression of time-series models—from ARIMA to Prophet to Time-LLMs—and witnessed immense gains, especially on sparse datasets.In NLP, I started with Bag-of-Words, TF-IDF, and Word2Vec. The arrival of Transformer architectures marked a turning point: from BERT’s impact on classification to GPT’s revolution in generative capabilities. Building RAG systems has felt like science fiction coming to life—offering solutions to challenges once thought unsolvable.Statistics show that only 10–20% of AI projects make it to production. From my MBA focus in Entrepreneurship and Human-Centered Design, I learned that successful innovation starts with understanding real human needs—not just building powerful tech. My design mindset helps me stay curious in the problem space and drive adoption through meaningful user experiences.Beyond technical expertise, I approach innovation through an entrepreneurial lens, focusing on de-risking ideas and ensuring economic viability. My early experience in credit risk taught me to de-risk not only models, but also personal and professional investments—like completing my MBA with net positive financial returns.
