Aerobic fermentation process development science for oil production. Running bioreactor and shake flask studies.Worked primarily with fed-batch processes at benchtop scale with Eppendorf DASGIP bioreactors, from setup to process to take-down and experience with installation as well. Includes troubleshooting and some reactor repair. Includes sensor calibrations for probe and offgas sensors, and communicating with sensor vendors as well as Eppendorf. Responsible for ordering DASGIP supplies and media supplies. Standard fermentation operations such as media prep, sterilization, CIP, probe and pump calibration, seed culture expansion and inoculation, sampling, harvest and cleanup. Plenty of sterile operations in biosafety cabinet. Plenty of experience with pipetting, solutions prep, data entry both in physical notebooks and electronically. Experience drafting and giving presentations. Ran and co-developed reverse phase HPLC methods for in house metabolite analysis of sugars and organic acids. Equipment manager of HPLC and CEDEX metabolite analyzer.Ran assays for optical density, cell weight as well as Folsch-method based assays for lipid extraction. Used phase contrast microscopy to confirm sterility and morphology. Analyzed data for titers, rate, yield, other relevant parameters including process parameters such as sugar concentration, respiratory quotient. Limited experience onsite at GMP facilities in tech transfer consulting role, and analyzing scale-up data as well.Some experience with scripting, Python and DASware. Some experience with SQL in our database.
