ABOUT ROHIT SOMALWAR

Rohit is a chartered accountant with 18 years of post qualification experience in multiple domains like Finance, Banking, School Management, EdTech and Social Impact ProjectsHis first and last job with HDFC Bank helped him to realise his real potential and interest areas. During his stint with the Bank, he rose from the level of a credit officer Nagpur to Area Credit Head Maharashtra and Goa States in a span of 5 years. However, his zeal of creating an impact made him quit this flourishing job and plunge into entrepreneurial journey. In 2011, he started working with his family run educational institution Somalwar Education Society, that had legacy of 100 years in the field of education. In year 2012, he founded SAPS, Somalwar Academy of Professional Studies Pvt Ltd with a target of benefiting students with strong fundamental knowledge and improving their exam performance. With a strong belief in Experiential Learning Pedagogy, he founded STEM Learning Solutions Pvt Ltd in the year 2019. This company is a mission to inculcate culture of application-based learning in school education system. It develops grade specific experiential learning kits precisely mapped with school syllabus. Working with one of the prominent NGOs in Kolkata on an educational project was a Eureka moment for him which made him start his own NGO ‘Nikalas Foundation’ in the year 2021. Nikalas Foundation is now undertaking many projects focused on improving quality of school education in India with prominent government and non-government organisations.He is now working on his dream project of developing hi-tech schools fit for 21st century kids maintaining the traditional values of education
