Backend Engineer at Teya, building POSLink — a cloud-based platform enabling seamless in-person card payments by orchestrating communication between ePOS systems, payment terminals, and acquiring systems.I design and build backend services that manage the end-to-end payment lifecycle — from transaction initiation at the ePOS to real-time status updates and completion via secure communication with payment terminals.The system operates as a distributed, event-driven architecture, ensuring reliable and consistent transaction processing across multiple components.Key areas of work:• Designing event-driven workflows for real-time payment processing• Building high-availability services using Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka• Solving distributed system challenges including consistency, retries, and failure handling• Developing APIs enabling seamless integration between ePOS systems and payment infrastructureWorking on systems that coordinate across multiple layers (ePOS → cloud services → terminals → acquiring systems), with a focus on reliability, scalability, and low-latency transaction flows.Key contributions:• Developed backend services supporting high-throughput transaction processing• Improved system reliability and observability across distributed services• Contributed to designing resilient payment workflows and failure handling mechanisms
