About Rohan Philip

I\'m a final-year Mechanical Engineering student specializing in aerospace systems, composite structures, and manufacturing optimization. My mission is straightforward: push the boundaries of what\'s possible in aerospace by developing next-generation propulsion systems, lightweight materials, and sustainable aviation solutions that redefine industry standards rather than just meet them.As the Ex-Manufacturing Head of Team Assailing Falcons, I led a 20-member team to 3rd place globally at SAE AeroDesign West 2025. We won 1st in Design Report and achieved something I\'m genuinely proud of: the most efficient payload-to-weight ratio in the entire competition. That wasn\'t luck. That was months of testing, iterating, failing, and learning.Beyond the podium, I\'ve worked on real aerospace challenges. I designed composite aircraft structures for wildfire mitigation. I optimized gas turbine components manufacturing for a GKN Aerospace project. And I\'ve seen firsthand how solid engineering translates to operational savings: 45% mass reduction in molten steel systems at Jindal Steel, 30% labour efficiency gains at Toyota, 12% reduction in downtime through smarter design. My expertise spans the whole product development lifecycle. CAD modelling, FEA in ABAQUS and ANSYS, hands-on composite fabrication, precision CNC manufacturing. I\'ve tested multiple carbon fiber samples, built MATLAB scripts to automate analysis, and led teams through complex projects from concept to working prototypes. My research on bio-inspired lattice structures achieved over 90% energy absorption under dynamic loading. That work is presented at AIMTDR 2025 and is under review at an international journal. But here\'s what really motivates me: aerospace engineering isn\'t just about technical excellence. It\'s about solving real problems. Whether I\'m optimizing turbomachinery for educational platforms or designing autonomous VTOL aircraft for emergency response, the goal is always the same: Create something that matters.I\'m actively looking for opportunities where I can apply my expertise in aerospace systems design, advanced manufacturing, and composite materials to drive real innovation. Propulsion systems, lightweight structures, sustainable aviation, additive manufacturing, next-generation aircraft design. I want to work with teams that are genuinely pushing aerospace forward. If you\'re building something ambitious and looking for someone who shows up, does solid work, and cares deeply about aerospace, let\'s connect. I\'m ready to contribute from day one.
