About Rohan Patel
I would describe myself as a result-driven and growth-oriented software engineer with over six months of experience developing and leading software projects. As a professional, I’ve had the opportunity to intern at Gekko Corporations as both a Software Engineer and Technical Project Manager. I developed software solutions using large language models and led a team of 12 developers through successful project completions. This experience enhanced my technical expertise while honing my management skills, resulting in the delivery of projects that directly impacted both the company and its clients. As a student at University of Washington studying computer science and software engineering I have grounded myself with the skills of software design, problem solving, and software engineering, and programming. With experience in developing software projects and having the opportunity to work in a live code base while being in a test driven development team I have developed a passion and skill set for working as a software engineer. In addition to my technical background, I’m deeply committed to volunteerism. I recently spent nine months volunteering to help build the largest Hindu temple outside of India, where I adapted to a fast-paced work environment, learned stone placement and crane calling. Currently, I serve as an admin for the North American Development Committee at BAPS, where I lead a team of 23 students and professionals developing youth curriculum for over 100 centers. I also organize regional and national conventions across North America.
