About Rohan Kusre

I’m a senior designer based in Brooklyn, New York. Having started my career as a founder of my own company, I’ve always viewed design through a business-centric lens. I believe a good designer should be humble but confident, adaptable to the shifting needs of a business but rigid to the requirements of a customer and be endlessly curious as no design is ever truly complete.I’ve spent my career helping early-stage startups build the foundations of their product and brand and have learned a great deal on what it takes to not only drive a project from 0-1 but constantly improve upon an existing product using data. The beginning and end of this process is the customer and whether I’m doing designing a website for a small mom & pop shop, building a customer onboarding process for a large crowdfunding website or revamping a D2C e-commerce site from the ground up, my primary objective is always to become confident in my knowledge of who I’m designing for. This foundational principle has allowed me to have success in fintech, ecommerce, healthtech and more over the course of my career. Each stop in my journey has taught me something new and made me into the well-rounded designer I am today. I’ve been mentored by great designers, mentored some designers of my own and worked with some incredibly talented PMs, developers and executives from all over the world. I pride myself in my ability to keep my ego out of my designs, understanding that anything I create is living and should be constantly improved upon. My experience in various industries has honed my intuition for user expectations, allowing me to leverage data more effectively and iterate on features more efficiently. I’m adept at working with developers both side by side and remotely and have a deep understanding of what it takes to execute a frictionless handoff between design and dev.

   Built out a component library and established the foundation of the design team at a newly acquired entity (AgingCare.com)• Increased conversions across the site through user testing• Involved in business decisions aimed at monetizing a large, active community of users - provided design solutions that toed the line between pushing for conversions and maintaining the utility and culture of the forum• Spearheaded a fresh brand voice and redesign of the entire site to increase usability and readability for users while allowing us to capture more data and flow our community through more of our offerings
