My research focuses on workplace incivility: “deviant behavior with the ambiguous intent to harm in violations of workplace norms for respect” or just being a “jerk at work.” It includes subtle behaviors like spreading rumors, or ostracism. This leads to outcomes like lower well-being and job performance. Incivility relates to DEI and equal opportunity as a potential manifestation of modern bias and discrimination, disproportionately targeting marginalized groups.
