At ArcelorMittal, one of the world’s largest steel and mining companies, I have played a key role, consistently surpassing EBITDA and Cash targets and delivering strong financial results.With deep expertise in risk management, compliance, M&A, cost controlling, and FP & A, I excel in leading teams through change, implementing innovative financial strategies, and maintaining robust cash flow and operational controls. My industry experience spans mining, steel, and manufacturing. Bilingual in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, and holding dual citizenship, U.S. and Brazil, I bring a unique perspective on navigating complex global markets, fostering collaboration, and driving sustainable growth.I have a strong focus on M&A, from negotiation through integration, and restructuring. Over my 30 years at ArcelorMittal, I have led numerous initiatives and achieved synergy through finance-led restructuring programs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I introduced daily cash management practices that led to cash generation exceeding budget by 72% despite reduced EBITDA. I directed ArcelorMittal Long’s Central and South America region through economic fluctuations, driving expansion through strategic mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and capital initiatives.Throughout my career, I have emphasized the importance of cost control and operational engagement. My hands-on approach includes regular interaction with business units and shop floors, with strong foundation in cost accounting and management. Early in my career, I implemented a comprehensive cost system in ArcelorMittal Brazil, and in all M&A projects, I drove synergies and value creation through a focus on cost improvement and benchmarking.As CFO of ArcelorMittal Dofasco, I currently oversee controlling, treasury, accounting, and tax functions, managing a total net revenue of $4.5 billion across Canada and the U.S. Brought on board to also lead an over $1 billion decarbonization project in a challenging compliance environment. My career also includes roles on boards, audit committees, and foundations. My work with foundations has been particularly meaningful, providing a broader perspective, especially in underdeveloped communities where we can make a tangible difference, particularly in education. I’m proud to have contributed to educational initiatives for teenagers, including teaching classes and assisting with vision deficit screenings to support learning.
