ABOUT ROGER HUMM
Roger is an experienced Non-Executive, Commercial and Finance Director with extensive knowledge of technology companies and start-up businesses. He has accumulated experience of UK and trans-national capital transactions covering start-ups, spin-outs, acquisitions, divestments and in- & out-licensing, and has raised finance from a variety of sources including grant funding, early stage,(S)EIS funds, venture capital and public markets. Educated at Abingdon School and with a first degree in Microbiology & Virology from Warwick, he qualified as a chartered accountant in 1984 with Grant Thornton’s Birmingham office. Post-qualification, Roger held roles with GT’s national computer audit and training departments before leaving for a role in industry. Following a period with Rio Tinto, Roger joined Oxford Instruments plc and held corporate, financial & senior management roles both in the UK and USA before taking responsibility for the group’s corporate development and intellectual property activities, and business development projects within their Innovations team. Roger completed his MBA at the University of Bath in 1997. Roger now owns and manages his own business providing commercial and financial consultancy for growing businesses. He is married, with two children and lives in North Somerset, where he takes an active interest in the local community.
