ABOUT ROGER FERGUSON

Savvy business owners know they aren’t just taking out a loan, they are entering into a long-term relationship with their lender. They must look beyond the transaction to consider the lender’s knowledge and experience, their responsiveness and their commitment. They must ask themselves, is this someone I can work with? Do we have rapport? I am a professional business development officer with extensive credit training and workout experience, but – as a former journalist – I am also an effective communicator with seasoned listening skills. Perhaps most importantly, I have what author Nicholas Boothman calls a “Really Useful Attitude.” I love working a call plan to make new connections and grow relationships, which is why I am also a member of several social and service clubs, boards and committees. I have a very successful track record of building long-term, high-quality relationships, both in and out of work.As a lender, I always feel truly honored when a business owner chooses me as the anchor to their banking relationship. With that honor comes great responsibility, which I will not take for granted.
