About Roger Yin
I am passionate about how people, technology, and culture can jointly work toward or against human civilization and advancement in the increasingly complex world. The more connected we are in the data-driven and A.I-enabled digital world populated with the Internet of Things that are bonded by smart contracts of Blockchain, we are exposed to exponential risks and threats - both as individuals and organizations. The consequences of coping with \"presence shock\" and making can\'t-wait-any-longer decisions confronting \"big data\" have inevitably blurred the boundary between privacy and common good. Nonetheless, issues that exist both historically and sociopolitically always bring out opportunities. Being a technologist, I pride myself in helping people, especially organization leaders challenge themselves to strategize, prioritize and reprioritize constantly - so they can not only sustain, but also succeed. In March, 2013 I became a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS), after passing a rigorous set of eligibility requirements and a certification examination administered by HIMSS. It validates both breath and depth of my knowledge and skills in IT management with a focus on the complex healthcare arena. Only two thousand certified IT professionals worldwide have earned this certificate.Later in 2013, I earned two distinctive industry certifications on IT Audit and Cybersecurity Management: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) administered by Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and Global Information Assurance Certification on Systems and Network Auditor (GSNA) administered by SANS Institute. In August, 2014, I became a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) administered by ISACA. This industry-acknowledged credential validates my evolving expertise in IT governance, risk, compliance (GRC), and cybersecurity management.Learning as a process and outcome should never end!
