Marina Coast Water District provides water and sewer services to the City of Marina and the former Fort Ord. Its water source is groundwater from the Salinas Valley Groundwater Basin. We are advising the District on implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA), including the formation of two groundwater sustainability agencies covering the District\'s water service areas. The District is a member agency of the Monterey Regional Water Pollution Control Agency (PCA). In April 2016, Marina Coast and PCA entered into the Pure Water Delivery and Supply Project Facilities Agreement. The agreement provides that the Product Water Conveyance Pipeline, a key component of PCA’s Pure Water Monterey Project, will be designed, constructed, owned, and operated by Marina Coast. The agreement also provides that Marina Coast will have the right to utilize 1,427 AFY of the PCA facilities’ treatment capacity and to deliver that advance treated recycled water to the District’s Ord Community service area customers.
