Extensive management, government administration and municipal and contract law experience. Presently Assistant City Manager for the City of Pasadena, serving as a member of the City’s Executive Management Team and providing leadership for the development of a shared vision, strategy and goals for all City activities affecting the quality of life. Departments reporting include Public Health, Library, Rent Stabilization and Public Information. Previously: Chief Assistant City Attorney, managing the day to day activities of the Civil Division of the Pasadena City Attorney’s Office, serving as general counsel for the Rose Bowl Operating Company and as the primary business lawyer for the City of Pasadena. Emphasis in special events negotiation and contracting, including World Cup, Super Bowl, UCLA football and the Tournament of Roses events. Hands on with public safety issues and personnel in high visibility, special events. Have provided leadership in ethics based decision making and was City Attorney for the City of Vernon in its Good Governance Reform efforts. Prior to government service, history of social justice work on issues such as voting rights, employment law, at a class action level, redevelopment and land use justice issues as well as lawyering in complex business litigation. Early grantee of the Berkeley Law Foundation for public interest law work in the land use arena. Boalt Hall School of Law graduate and College Scholar Graduate of Cornell University.
