Strategist and futurist focused on the consequences of the accelerating pace of change in security and policing environments. I work as a research professor at the National Security Affairs Department and at the Center for Homeland Defense and Security at the Naval Postgraduate School and I am also a certified facilitator for the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST), a former instructor at the Emergency Management Institute and a Faculty member at Singularity University. I teach and mentor high ranking law enforcement, military, and homeland security leaders to create and execute strategies to meet the requirements of exponentially changing environments and threat profiles. I have written mostly on the topics of the adaptation capacities of global organized crime, the public policy challenges of innovation and intrapreneurship in government and homeland security, and asymmetric warfare and cybersecurity.
