WORK HISTORY
Research Scientist Plant Pathology @US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS)
Stuttgart, AR, US
At the USDA-ARS Dale Bumpers National Rice Research Center, I lead and collaborate on projects advancing sustainable rice production by identifying disease-resistant germplasm, characterizing pathogen traits for diagnostics and monitoring, and developing biological control solutions where genetic resistance is limited. My research spans sheath blight, bacterial leaf streak, and other major rice diseases, integrating field, molecular, and genomic approaches to strengthen disease management. In collaboration with the University of Arkansas, I also contribute to projects addressing rice blast virulence, fungicide resistance in sheath blight, integrated Cercospora control, and technical support for breeding disease-resistant cultivars. Together, these efforts directly inform breeding programs, guide management practices, and reinforce the resilience and sustainability of U.S. rice production.
