Rodricka S. Stevens is a reporter currently based in Lafayette, Louisiana. She reports for KLFY News Ten \'Acadiana’s Local News-Leader\'. She began her career in broadcast journalism at Dillard University, where she studied Mass Communication and a minor in Theater Arts in New Orleans, Louisiana. She received her degree in 2020. There she covered sports for women and men basketball and women volleyball for the university’s athletic department. She covered current events on and off campus for Bleu News DU-TV and the Courtbouillon newspaper dealing with New Orleans’ water management and student enrollment changes. She also worked in AM and FM radio with WBOK 1230 AM and WHIV 102.3 FM. She furthered her career in broadcast journalism at Northwestern University\'s Medill School of Journalism, where she earned her Master of Science in Journalism. Rodricka received her degree in 2021. Amid a Covid-19 pandemic, she overcame daily challenges by remote reporting through her passion for storytelling by being resilient. Rodricka reported on a range of local news in Chicago and suburbs areas such as Flossmoor and Dolton, IL, including Illinois Pretrial Fairness Act, 2020 election, insurrection, the first female mayor of Flossmoor, IL. Covid-19 procedures for those incarcerated in Cook County Jail, the Chicago Bulls. In addition to covering various protests, police brutality, education, arts, along with the pandemic inequalities on the Southside of Chicago.
