I believe that today, a company’s success depends on its ability to embrace and leverage technology with vision and discipline. The IT landscape opens doors that were unimaginable just a few years ago. Start-ups can rise and scale rapidly thanks to low entry costs and ready-to-use solutions. Small and medium businesses can thrive if they dare to change. Even large enterprises, despite their complexity and fragmented knowledge, can unlock immense value when they truly harness technology. The real challenge is clear: improving customer experience while strengthening security, resilience, stability, and performance - and at the same time reducing cost and complexity. There is no universal recipe. Each organization must find its balance through strategy, governance, and foresight. Risk Management and ICT Security are not just support functions - they are the backbone of resilience. They keep risk within acceptable boundaries and protect business goals, ensuring alignment with regulations such as DORA and the NIS Directive, and with global standards like NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, and ISO 22301.Cloud is the foundation of the future - but only if managed and governed wisely- SaaS first, with minimal customization- PaaS when needed, prioritizing serverless- IaaS only when unavoidable, and only with sustainable skills. Artificial Intelligence is no longer optional. It enhances quality, speed, efficiency, and fraud protection - but it must be governed responsibly, guided by frameworks such as the NIST AI RMF and EU AI Act. DevSecOps and Agile are the new normal. Automation, integration, and collaboration are what keep organizations competitive while defending them from IT and cyber risks.In the end, technology is not just about tools or platforms. It is about people, skills, and culture. Success comes from combining innovation with resilience, speed with governance, ambition with responsibility. It is a fascinating time for technology. Despite my age, I remain deeply inspired by its potential and eager to contribute to its responsible implementation in business.
