   As president and CEO, Rod Hochman oversees a seven-state health system that combines Providence Health & Services and St. Joseph Health. Both organizations have served the Western U.S. for more than a century and together include caregivers who serve in 51 hospitals, clinics, and numerous programs and services across Alaska, California, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Washington. Under Rod\'s leadership, the Providence family of organizations is shaping the future of health care through digital innovation, population health, specialty institutes, clinical quality and outreach to those who are poor and vulnerable. Providence is also placing special emphasis on addressing the nation\'s growing mental health crisis, which communities across the American West have identified as one of their most significant areas of need.
