About Roddy Denor
I work alongside communities to drive transformative change at community level. From serving migrant farmworkers, students, incarcerated and returning citizens in the US, to developing and managing multi-million-dollar programs in West and Central Africa and Haiti, my work has been anchored in one belief: lasting change begins with dignity, equity, and the leadership of those most impacted. Why?I was born and raised in Haiti, where I saw firsthand how systems built on power and exploitation don’t just fail people, they actively harm them. Poverty and social injustice don’t just happen, they are built and upheld by design. Growing up in Haiti, I couldn’t unsee how Haitians lived each day resisting a system that treated their suffering as routine and their lives as expendable. After the 2010 earthquake, I saw disaster capitalism unfold in real time: aid that should have saved lives was diverted, misused, and manipulated. But natural disasters do not create injustice, they exposed it. That kind of injustice doesn’t let you stay on the sidelines. It forces a choice: turn away, join in, or fight it. Those experiences didn’t just shape my career, they deepened my commitment to justice wherever I am.How?Since 2017, I have worked across borders and sectors. I have:• Supported migrant farmworkers in rural East Tennessee as an outreach coordinator, connecting them with community resources, legal support, and free healthcare.• Served with AmeriCorps to prepare students in disadvantaged communities for college or career paths of their choice.• Advocated for immigrants of color in detention, helping them raise bail funds and connecting them with legal and community support as they began new lives in the US.• Supported the education and career advancement of incarcerated individuals and returning citizens.• Partnered with grassroots organizations, nonprofits, and donors to launch community-centered programs in West Africa and Haiti, while leading business development and securing multi-million-dollar funding.I bring expertise in project management, donor relations, business development, and strategic growth. Fluent in Haitian Creole, French, and English, I thrive in fast-paced, cross-cultural environments, with the strategic thinking and adaptability needed to navigate complexity.I thrive in equity-driven spaces, movements, programs, and organizations, where communities are not just recipients but partners, co-creating solutions and steering their own futures.
