ABOUT ROD DEWIT

I am an experienced software developer and an exceptional team player and leader with over 10 years of experience in every stage of the software development life cycle. I have delivered successful projects to various Fortune 500 companies as the development lead, as well as taking on various other diverse roles such as analyst, product manager and architect. My strengths include my technical, analytic and leadership abilities. I have experience coding and leading development teams as well as developing requirements, creating designs (functional and technical), estimating, resource planning, handling change management, establishing and improving processes and many other aspects of both general project and team leadership. I have been actively involved in many aspects of client communication (eg. scope negotiation, project status, defect calls) and have proven myself to be a proficient communicator (both verbal and written) and very good at building strong internal and external relationships.My software development philosophy is that a high quality end product is best obtained by using and encouraging modern coding best practices throughout development. Examples include using agile methodologies, coding to SOLID standards, and using both unit testing and automated regression testing. Most importantly, great teamwork and communication leads to a great end product!
