His prior roles at industry giants like Splunk and Symantec underscore his prowess in managing complex security environments.Rod’s academic foundation includes an MBA from Arizona State University\'s W. P. Carey School of Business, complemented by a number of security and privacy certifications, including a CISA, CTPRP, and CDPSE. This blend of business acumen along with over 20 years of technical expertise enables him to bridge the gap between executive strategy and IT operations seamlessly.Beyond his technical skills, Rod is known for his leadership skills and ability to foster consensus across diverse teams; he enjoys taking a holistic approach to cybersecurity - encompassing areas like artificial intelligence (AI), third-party risk management (TPRM), governance risk and compliance (GRC), and secure software development life cycle (SSDLC)- to effectively manage enterprise risk while improving organizational security posture and regulatory compliance for Zoom and its customers.

   Key member of Zoom’s Security GRC leadership team, supporting the company’s extensive global customer base and helping build the Customer Trust function from the ground up. Defined the team’s purpose and vision, established key processes, and hired top talent with intent. Led initiatives to automate controls, developed scalable security assurance materials, and created proactive customer engagement mechanisms, including the ongoing evolution of the Zoom Trust Center.
