More than 40 years\' marketing communications experience. Started as a staff writer for a suburban Chicago daily newspaper. Joined Covey & Koons, Inc. as a copywriter and was named account executive in 1979, vice president in 1994 and president in Launched Covey-Odell Advertising in 2008; the company was named Business of the Year in 2009 by North Canton Area Chamber of Commerce. Covey-Odell merged with Crowl Marketing | Creative in 2017. Rod is a past president of Canton Advertising Club and Ad Person of the Year recipient and has served on the publicity/fund-raising committees of United Way, United Arts Fund, Mental Health Association, American Heart Association, Star Academy Foundation, Smile for a Lifetime Foundation, Heritage Christian School and Buckeye Council, BSA.
