Starting our family owned independent agency in 1979 in Tallahassee, we faced many of the same challenges that face agency owners today. The added property market challenges that were no problem back then have added tremendous additional pressure on agents today. The growing challenge of continuing as a stand-alone agency in 1996 lead us to explore the opportunity to partner with SIAA who was just emerging on the national scene and offered many benefits that helped us grow, thrive, and survive as a privately held small business over the years since.
