About Rod Khattabi
Rod serves as a Senior Manager, Group Security & Intelligence (GSI), for CMA-CGM. CMA-CGM is a shipping and logistics company founded in 1978 by Jacques Saade. It is the third largest container shipping company in the world, with a presence in approximately 160 countries through 400 offices, 750 warehouses, eployees and a wide fleet of approximately 600 vessels. Rod also served as Chief Accountability Officer & Justice Initiative Director for Grace Farms Foundation. He was responsible for all programs aligned with the mission to disrupt/end modern day slavery, gender based violence, and environmental crimes through effective policy, capacity building, and advocacy. Rod worked on supply chain issues, built awareness of forced labor, and established auditing standards. Throughout his over 20-year career in federal law enforcement, Rod has developed an expertise in investigating international criminal organization involved in all types of illicit trades to include forced labor and child sex trafficking. Rod trained international, federal, state, and local law enforcement in successfully combatting and prosecuting National and Transnational Organized Crime involved in human trafficking and environmental crimes (Africa, Asia, Americas, and Europe). Rod was previously in charge of the Connecticut New Haven office with the Department of Homeland Security (HSI). His career as a federal agent began in 1995 and since then he has received numerous awards including the Director\'s Award and the Medal of Valor for his heroic actions during the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Rod has supervised Special Agents, Task Force Officers, and Research Analysts pursuing indictments, arrests and convictions of criminal violators. Rod investigated and successfully prosecuted federal/state crimes including international and domestic human trafficking, child exploitation, export violations, narcotics, terrorism, complex financial crimes, money laundering, international weapons trafficking, intellectual property, export, and immigration. Rod led and supervised a team of federal agents and analysts to investigate all types of federal criminal offenses in the United States, Haiti, Nicaragua and South Africa. He worked with the international law enforcement community to investigate and gather evidence of numerous criminal violations. The criminal investigations were successfully conducted and permitted the prosecution of offenders in US federal courts. Developed a great working relationship with many domestic and foreign law enforcement communities.
