As an Assistant Vice President / Program Manager at CGS Administrators (subsidiary of Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina), Don “Roc” Via is responsible for the oversight of a government contract (DME MAC Jurisdiction B) issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Key responsibilities include meeting all government requirements, positioning the contract for future growth, and innovating to provide additional value to the government and Medicare beneficiaries. Roc’s knowledge of operations, business development, and proven success in implementing cost enhancement solutions makes him uniquely qualified for this role. Roc has been with CGS Administrators since and has had the privilege of managing a variety of areas and teams. Roc previously served as Director of Business Excellence where he was responsible for oversight of the organization’s strategic planning, Lean enterprise, strategic project portfolio, Quality and Training programs, and numerous other projects focused on ensuring CGS’s continued success. Other roles at CGS include business development, claims processing, appeals resolution, provider relations, technical support, electronic data interchange, training, and quality, not to mention numerous projects associated with enhancing CGS’s position in the market. During his career Roc has served as Capture and Proposal manager leading the efforts to retain a current Medicare and obtaining a new contract providing revenue in excess of $300 million when combined. Roc was successful in this role due to his expertise in operations, strong knowledge of the competitive environment, and ability to provide his customers with the innovative and cost effective solutions they desire. In his free time, Roc enjoys spending time with his family and enjoying outdoor activities.
