Cleveland, OH, US

I am currently serving as my school\'s counselor for the class of 2024 and 2026. My role requires me to implement the high school counseling, career development and student human relations curriculum. I am able to do this through meeting with groups, as well as individual students, working to develop individual Career Plans. I often consult with teachers, staff and parents regarding meeting the development needs of students, as well as refer students to appropriate community resources in consultation with their parents. I maintain my expertise by participating in, as well as coordinating activities which contribute to the effective operation of the school, as it relates to our counseling curriculum. In addition to these items, I attend local staff development programs and participate in monthly counselor in-service programs provided by the district

ABOUT ROBYN MWILA

Equitable education is crucial!I am passionate about removing barriers in order to allow all students to be successful and recognize their worth. As the product of an inner-city public school system, I have first-hand knowledge of the difficulties students face when it comes to receiving a quality education when adequate learning tools and support are lacking. I am skilled in communication, problem solving, operations, customer service, and. people! My commitment to filling this void means meeting our students where they are, incorporating what they need in order to flourish, and guiding them across the finish line. In my 10th year as an Educator and 4th year as School Counselor, I take a universal design for learning approach to create supports that allow every student to understand their pathway to graduation and beyond. I also believe cultivating positive relationships is key to reaching our children! I rely on my extensive customer service experience and school counseling background to continuously promote meaningful rapport and beneficial interactions, both in and outside of the classroom. This allows me to get to know my students so that I can assist them in finding those tools to create and achieve SMART goals, helping them to realize (and achieve) their own self-purpose and dreams.
