About Robyn Hannigan

I am the 19th President of Ursinus College (July 1 2022 to present). Prior to this role I served as Provost at Clarkson University (2019 to June 2022) and as Founding Dean of the School for the Environment at the University of Massachusetts Boston (2013 to 2019). An innovative and strategic thinker, my administrative leadership supports the development and implementation of responsive, nimble, and transdisciplinary learning experiences that enable diverse and inclusive communities of learners and co-creators to make positive change for a sustainable future. My passion for higher education and dedication to diversity in both people and discipline has transformed the institutions I serve. I\'ve translated my spirit for invention into a few start-up ventures founded with students as well as a robust research program engaging students in scientific discovery. My acumen for building and sustaining public- partnerships created opportunities to foster intellectually engaging and impactful programs and activities. These efforts not only support financial resiliency of the institution and student community but also enhance student achievement and long-term career success. I\'ve spoken globally about the essential role of higher education in the innovation ecosystem and the centrality of diversity in building vibrant, inclusive institutions. My abiding dedication to our Earth led me to the University of Rochester where I earned my PhD in Earth and Environmental Sciences. I\'ve led, and continue to serve in a variety of capacities, non-profit, government, higher education, and tech start-up boards and advisory committees.
